School Days

Wednesday, September 1st, 2010

Prov 24:3-4 through wisdom is a house builded; and by understanding it is established: and by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precocious and pleasant riches.

Many household schedules may shift as children begin to migrate back into school. Financially new needs such as supplies, sports and recreation, along with clothing and lunch begin to shift the household spending habits.
Don’t panic. It’s nothing that a declared word of “I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me” can’t realign. That’s right we can speak Gods word into financial chaos and cause it to align with God’s will. The enemy can only wreak havoc in our day to day lives and finances if we allow him to.

Let us declare a word of good stewardship over our family and finances. This word will set a course of life in victory over the enemy’s attacks on our schedules and finances.

To help balance out some of the financial chaos; try these 7 simple steps to save money.
(First six steps received from Ohio’s Consumer Credit Council)

1. Set specific financial goals, and then decide how much you need to save each week to get there.
2. Start a savings account and have a portion of your paycheck directly deposited.
3. If you pay off a bill or loan continue making payments to yourself in your savings account.
4. Save change and gifts of cash.
5. Pay bills on time to avoid late fees.
6. Use coupons and store frequent buyer cards.
7. Have a family meeting beginning with a prayer of agreement over an annual budget, allocating percentages to specified needs.

Let’s agree to not allow these light transitional shifts to compare to the Glory that will be revealed through our prayerful stewardship over both our families and our finances.
And remember schooldays are God days in Christ Jesus.

Prayfully yours

A Worthy Treasure

Matthew 6: 19-24

Have you ever seen the movie Indiana Jones? In this movie the main character Jonesy along with his gorgeous sidekick go on an amazingly dangerous journey to find a promised treasure. This couple literally misses losing their lives by inches numerous times throughout the story. The question is; was this unknown treasure truly worthy of their dedication of time, energy, mental thought processes, or life? Although fictional, this storyline plagues many non-believers as well as believers alike.
Somehow we’ve lost the principle of living life abundantly. We chase a treasure on earth that never was the believer’s ultimate promise. Yes He did come that we would have Life and life more abundantly this abundance includes the adding of things after seeking first the kingdom and His righteousness. Sure there are some amazing things that our heavenly Father wants us to enjoy on earth. But remember Matthew 6:19 clearly says they shall pass away. That’s right perish just like those fabulous shoes you purchased back in 1985. Or that amazing car you drove back in 1964. A believer’s true storehouse should always be found in Heaven. No thief can break in Heaven and take this promise. No Indiana Jones or his gorgeous sidekick can take what the Almighty God has prepared for them that Believe.
Remember For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that Whosoever believeth should not perish but Should have everlasting, or eternal life. Now that’s a worthy treasure.

The Uknown Varialble

2 kings 4:1-7
The unknown Variable (1+F=paid in full)
F=Faith

There’s nothing like the final payment on a bill to a creditor. You know the bill that sits on the kitchen counter or the one that if you get behind on the payment they start to harass you.
We have all made some financial mistakes in our lives. We have probably all built up quite a bill. But my Father has stamped our bills Paid in full. The problem is often times we fail to utilize the unknown variable “F” to receive the promise of provision.
In today’s text we find a widow mother with such a bill. The debtor has come to collect on his money. Loss of husband and other hardships has caused her to not make a payment in a while.
According to Mosaic Law in Leviticus 25:39 for repayment of debt when you had no money you worked it off until it was paid in full. You were literally enslaved to the Creditor until debt was paid off. In essence the debtor had to work off owed debt. If you had children you gave them to the creditor for his needs to be fulfilled until debt was paid in full.
Anything that you leave to the hands of the world oftentimes leads to someone being taken advantage of. Many times the bill would be paid in full and the creditor would just keep working that poor child to death.
In our own lives it seems as after one bill is paid another one rises from the dead of our past. We just don’t seem to see our debts ever being totally repaid. Have I got the formula for you.
First you must know that faith without works is dead. It’s not enough to declare that Christ death has covered all debt. You must institute the unknown variable of Faith and believe your debt has been paid in full.
If you believe it then you can lift up an offering before the Lord and ask Him to bless your efforts of repayment. As you offer what you have God will supernaturally continue to fill your cruise until you begin to see the manifested will of God.
Step one run to your creditor not from him. Begin to negotiate a settlement or repayment plan. Get everything signed and in writing before scheduling an actual payment. Lift your repayment arrangement before your Provider and declare your debt paid in full.
The enemy came to collect from this woman. But this woman remembered her true source of provision. She declared the word of God back to the Prophet of God. In return he asked her what do you have of value. Her response could have been like ours often times. When the bill collector says what can you pay. We respond did you not hear me I don’t have anything.
But she believed God and declared all I have is a small cruise or container of oil. This woman could have made excuses. However she stood on her faith, lifted up what she had, and trusted God to multiply it.
The prophets said pour out your oil until every jar is filled. God’s word +the widows faith = Paid in full
Faith has, and will always be the unknown variable. All you need is one word from our one source. The actual equation is: 1+F (Faith) = Paid in full. This equation does not make sense to the world. But if Jesus can use it to multiply two fish and five loaves of bread then I’m willing to trust that it works.
Lift up to God what you have and as you work, as you pour out, and as you trust, watch Him begin to multiply it. Be encouraged that when you apply your faith to God’s word you receive God’s will.

Order and Annointing

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

Have you ever felt stuck between a rock and a hard place? Praise God for the hard place for the battle is not yours it is the Lords. Many times when we encounter financial hard places we fall into survival mode. This can lead to poor choices. But there is good news.
God has given us both order and anointing to overcome the hardships in our lives.

The Order: is Gods divine direction for a given situation, the anointing is His Spirit that prevails in the situation.
Ok let’s not get all spiritually deep and heavy on this one.

Problem: you have become over extended in credit card or cash advance debt.
Order: organize your debt. Begin to negotiate for a small settlement or payment arrangements. Pay off smaller bills first. This will give you a victor’s momentum. Make every effort to owe no man. Remember order first then the anointing will flow. As you begin to step out on faith in the way God has ordered you to. His anointing will take over and cause you to walk on the very water your standing on. Remember God will provide just follow His orders and climb that mountain Abraham.

Anointing: Wait faithfully on the Lord. Father God forgive me for being a poor stewart over your provisions in my life. I am now faithfully working towards repayment of my debts. I have been obedient and faithful to your word to owe no man. Now in the name of Jesus I ask you to forgive my debt as I forgive my debtors. And lead me away from the temptation of taking out another cash advance or opening another credit card. Lead me away from poor spending habits and behaviors. Thank you for the victory in Jesus Name amen.
Now be still and know He is Jehovah Jira (Provider).

When Joshua was sent to fight the Battle of Jericho God sent Him out with order and anointing.
Joshua 6:2-5
Order
2 And the LORD said unto Joshua, See, I have given into thine hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valour.
3 And ye shall compass the city, all ye men of war, and go round about the city once. Thus shalt thou do six days.
4 And seven priests shall bear before the ark seven trumpets of rams’ horns: and the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets.
Anointing
5 And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up every man straight before him.

So when you find yourself in a hard place financially; don’t be disobedient like Moses was in Exodus 20:7-8. If the order is to Speak to the rock speak to it. Follow Gods order and wait on the anointing of God to prevail in your hard place.

Prayerfully His

What To Do When Dishonest

Tuesday, April 13th, 2010

1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our
sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Leviticus 6:4-9 “Then it shall be, because he hath sinned, and is guilty,
that he shall restore that which he took violently away, or the thing which
he hath deceitfully gotten, or that which was delivered him to keep, or the
lost thing which he found, Or all that about which he hath sworn falsely; he
shall even restore it in the principal, and shall add the fifth part more there-
to, and give it unto him to whom it appertaineth, in the day of his trespass
offering.

Our first step after dishonesty is to restore our fellowship with god. Confess
our sin to him, humbly asking for forgiveness. We cannot hide our sin from
God for he already sees it. When we use our faith to confess, we destroy
the works of the enemy who wants to keep us silent in our sin, trapped in
bondage.

Lastly, we need to give back to the rightful owner, what we took by force
or in secret or from a second person suspecting it might be stolen. Or may-
be we just found something but don’t know who it belongs to that we
should have turned over to the police.

Our dishonesty is a matter of the heart, a lack of faith, or could we say, a
distrust of God’s provision in our lives. Oh how we try to justify it in our
own minds. We may think “they have so much already, they won’t miss
this little thing” or “I don’t think they pay me enough so I will take some
extra liberties of my own at work” or “it’s the government, they won’t
find out if it is all done in cash.” Trust me, even it the government doesn’t
find out, or our bosses or a person we considered to be a friend, God
already knows and he will discipline us according to what we have done.
And that is a painful place to be my friends. The word says “do not repay
anyone evil for evil” for you see, we are held to a higher accountability in
Christ Jesus.

If you have felt a conviction in your spirit about something specific while
you read this, please don’t wait another second. Go to God in prayer and
repent, ask for forgiveness and ask for His wisdom on how he wants you
to repay for the dishonesty, and be freed from that bondage that held you
captive. Thank the Lord!

In His Service
